Welcome to grad school.
So…everyone knows anime body proportions are idealized and kind of insane. But then I find this woman online. This amazing human with HER ANIME LEGS! SUPER LONG SKINNY ANIME LEGS! WHAT?! HOW??
So I even found a picture of venus online to compare. And like, now I’m going to take my stubby short legs over there to that sad corner.
holy shit her legs are practically canon
hER LEGS ARE PEFECT AND HER COSTUME IS SO WELL MADE I WISH TO HUG YOU LADY
Welcome to grad school.
May they be forever alone for their elitist douche-baggery.
I was recently interviewing the woman who founded Her Universe and we were talking specifically about women and geekdom. I asked about the rise of girls in geek culture and she very accurately corrected me: There is no “rise” of geek girls. We’ve always been here. Girls are just as nerdy as dudes are. Ladies have always been interested in sci fi and fantasy and video games - we just don’t talk about it a lot because men are assholes.
Can you tell me where there are abandoned places in SoCal that you dont need permission to enter?
No idea. I’d try google. Only place I know of in California is that one abandoned nazi place. I think it’s closed off by an easy to climb fence now though.
The Old LA zoo. It’s a bit of a walk though, but most of the cages are unlocked. There is a sign that asks visitors to respect the area, so don’t damage the old enclosures.
George Takei describes the moment when he and his family were sent to an internment camp.
"Another scene I remember now as an adult is every morning at school we started the day with the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag…there was the American flag flying over the camp but I could also see the barbed wire fence and the sentry towers pointing at us from my schoolhouse window as I recited the words ‘With liberty and justice for all’." - George Takei, The Daily Show (July 24, 2014).
Full Episode (apologies, The Daily Show website does not have the best video player).

I’ve been to the Japanese American Museum in Los Angeles and they put so much emphasis on the Japanese internment camps, even reconstructing one of the original barracks inside the museum. The condition these people were kept in was absolutely atrocious. Our tour guide was called Hatchimonji-san, and he had been in the internment camps as a boy, as well.
It’s no surprise that we like to pretend this significant piece of history never happened. Imprisoning innocent, American citizens who had nothing to do with the Pearl Harbor attacks was one of the most disgusting things my country has ever done and I am so damn ashamed of it.
Imagine a starkid show where all the actors pick their most favorite character they’ve ever played and just go at it at an all in improv game to the death.
tHAT WOULD BE SO GLORIOUS
OH MY GOD YES!
Hunger games musical!!
Remember how when Capaldi was chosen as the twelfth doctor everyone had this feeble hope that he would bring Doctor Who back to what it was because he was a film director and not the mysoginistic Moffat kind
AND THEN WE HEAR THAT HE’S REFUSING TO FLIRT WITH CLARA AND IS GOING TO BRING “a bit more gravity” BACK TO DOCTOR WHO AND "I didn’t want to be Doctor Who in a Doctor Who I didn’t like,"
I am punching the air right now.
